The Children's Dream Fund
The Children’s Dream Fund was founded in 1981 with the single purpose of fulfilling dreams for children ages 3-21 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, and who live in West Central Florida. Dreams are referred to us by doctors, nurses, Child Life and Social Workers, friends, families and other patients.
Dreams vary as much as the personalities of the children we serve. They may involve meeting a celebrity, a trip, a gift such as a computer or playground, or our most-requested dream, a week at the Give Kids the World Village, which enables a child to visit all of the Orlando-area theme parks.
The Children’s Dream Fund is not affiliated with a national organization. We do not tele market to raise funds. Since its inception in 1981, the Children’s Dream Fund has made dreams come true for over 4,000 children. According to our most recent audited financial report, 87% of all expenses go to make children’s dreams come true. Over 50% of all dream costs are covered by in-kind donations.
Every child deserves hope and a dream, and our goal is to continue to make those dreams come true.

"In 2008, when Joey was diagnosed with Leukemia, I remember thinking how it seemed unfair since he had already struggled with so much in his short life. The biggest challenge was facing the fear of the unknown. The first few months were overwhelming, but the love and support from family, friends, and organizations like the Children's Dream Fund made the road a little less daunting. Joey's dream trip was an unforgettable week at Give Kids the World that brought laughter, hope, and joy back into our family. So many incredible memories were made that week that we still treasure today."

"When Matthew was diagnosed with DSRCT, our family was preparing for another long journey. We knew the challenges ahead but because of Joey's battle, we had already witnessed the strength, bravery, and resilience of children fighting cancer. We were impressed with how Matt forged ahead with such a positive attitude. Once again, we were overwhelmed by the generosity of others, including the Children's Dream Fund. Matt's dream trip to Hawaii was full of adventure and fun. Our week was spent exploring the beautiful island- including attending a luau, taking a submarine ride, snorkeling, and surfing. The Children's Dream Fund's generosity did not end with the dream trips, however. Both boys were selected as Rays Tuesday Champions, allowing them to throw out first pitches at Tampa Bay Rays games. They were also able to attend a Tampa Bay Lightning game free of charge. We have made so many happy memories because of the Children's Dream Fund."
